The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has urged the owner of an abandoned Toyota Prado Land Cruiser to visit the police headquarters for verification and possible recovery of the vehicle.
According to a statement released by the FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, on Friday, the vehicle was discovered on December 31, 2024, during a routine patrol by officers from the Durumi Division.
The patrol took place at 11:30 am along David Ejoor Street, near Adisa Estate in the Apo-Gudu area.
The statement highlighted that the vehicle lacked a registration number, chassis number, and engine number.
“Upon inspection, the vehicle was found without a registration number. A thorough search of the vehicle was conducted, and the following items were recovered from inside: one silver-coloured eagle insignia, some video/audio cables, and one car stereo remote,” Adeh disclosed.
“Further investigations revealed that the sticker showing the engine and chassis numbers near the driver’s door had been removed, and the windscreen appeared to have been recently replaced. The vehicle has since been towed to the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II,” she added.
Adeh encouraged individuals who may have lost a vehicle fitting the description to present valid proof of ownership.
