An American Filmmaker, Jeff Baena, has passed away at 47.
His body was found by an assistant at his Los Angeles residence on Friday morning, where he was later declared dead, according to reports.
Baena, renowned for his work on films like The Little Hours, Life After Beth, and Joshy, was married to actress Aubrey Plaza in 2021.
The family expressed their profound sorrow, telling Deadline, “We are devastated,” and requested privacy during this challenging time.
Plaza, 40, known for her roles in The White Lotus and Parks and Recreation, has not yet made a public statement regarding her husband’s passing.
The cause of Baena’s death is still unclear.
Baena, a graduate of New York University with a degree in film, moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in directing.
Before embarking on his own filmmaking journey, he worked in production under directors Robert Zemeckis and David O’Russell.
His directorial debut came in 2014 with the release of Life After Beth, a zombie comedy film that starred Plaza. The two would continue to collaborate on various projects.
