In a bid to ease transportation costs during the festive season, President Bola Tinubu has approved free train services nationwide.
The initiative will run from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced the development during a briefing in Abuja, stating that the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to alleviating the financial burden on Nigerians, particularly the vulnerable.
“As was done during last year’s Christmas and the recent Sallah celebrations, Nigerians will again enjoy free train services nationwide,” Idris said.
“This move aligns with the President’s vision to mitigate transportation costs for citizens.”
