Paulo Dybala delivered an exceptional performance, scoring twice and assisting another goal to propel Roma to a dominant 5-0 victory over Parma in Serie A on Sunday.
The Argentine star opened the scoring with an early penalty and doubled his tally in the second half, capitalizing on a rebound from Alexis Saelemaekers’ initial attempt.
The two goals marked Dybala’s influence in helping Roma secure only their fifth league win of the campaign.
Saelemaekers, who had a hand in Dybala’s second goal, also got on the scoresheet with a well-executed volley following the opener.
Roma’s fourth came from the penalty spot in the 74th minute, converted by Leandro Paredes after Saelemaekers was shouldered off the ball in the box.
Dybala then set up Artem Dovbyk for a late finish to cap off the commanding performance.
Under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri, their third coach this season, Roma appeared to have found rhythm with consecutive wins against Lecce and Sporting Braga in Serie A and the Europa League.
However, their momentum was disrupted last weekend with a 2-0 loss to newly promoted Como.
In other Serie A fixtures later on Sunday, Atalanta aimed to extend their record to 11 straight league wins when they faced mid-table Empoli.
Meanwhile, Juventus traveled to Monza in search of a victory to break their streak of four consecutive draws, and Venezia was set to host Cagliari.
