Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has recovered from a thigh injury and will join the squad traveling to Doha for this week’s Intercontinental Cup final, the Spanish giants confirmed on Monday.
Mbappe suffered a left thigh injury during last week’s dramatic 3-2 Champions League victory over Atalanta, in which he scored, but had to sit out Saturday’s thrilling 3-3 league draw against Rayo Vallecano.
The 25-year-old forward is now set to feature in Wednesday’s final against Mexican side Pachuca, which will take place at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
“Mbappe did some work with the rest of the squad and some on his own,” Real Madrid noted following their final training session before departing for Doha.
Currently third in La Liga, Real Madrid trails leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid by just one point, with a game in hand. After the Intercontinental Cup final, they will return to host Sevilla on Sunday.
The Intercontinental Cup is a competition featuring champions of continental tournaments, with Real Madrid earning direct qualification for the final as winners of the 2024 UEFA Champions League.
