The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has issued a directive to all police operatives nationwide to remain on high alert throughout the festive season.
According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP stressed the importance of enforcing rigorous safety protocols, including enhanced patrols in locations hosting festive events and gatherings.
The IGP also urged citizens to stay vigilant and take necessary safety precautions during the celebrations.
“As we partake in the spirit of giving this Christmas, let us also embrace one another and align with the doctrines of the season. Together, we can ensure that this festive season is not only cheerful but also safe for all,” he said.
On behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force, the IGP extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians, wishing them a safe, joyful, and memorable holiday season.
“As we commemorate this special season, it is vital to prioritize safety and well-being. The Force remains committed to ensuring that communities across the country remain secure as the celebrations unfold,” the statement concluded.
