Fierce rivals Nigeria and Ghana are set to face off in the final of the inaugural WAFU U-17 Girls’ Cup on Sunday, with the match scheduled to take place at the Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Nigeria’s Flamingos secured their spot in the final after defeating Benin Republic 2-0 in Thursday’s semi-final.
Both goals came in the second half, courtesy of Mary Lucky Mkpa and Janet Akekoromowei.
Under the guidance of Bankole Olowookere, the Flamingos have netted 14 goals across three games in the competition.
Meanwhile, the host nation, Ghana, dominated Cote d’Ivoire in their semi-final, winning 5-0.
