The Federal Government has announced December 25 (Wednesday), December 26 (Thursday), and January 1, 2025 (Wednesday), as public holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on Monday.
Tunji-Ojo extended his goodwill to Nigerians, urging them to embody the spirit of the season by fostering love, unity, and peace.
“This season offers us an opportunity for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and goodwill towards one another, regardless of our differences,” the Minister stated.
He further encouraged Nigerians to strengthen bonds within their families and communities, emphasizing that such harmony plays a vital role in the nation’s growth.
“The Federal Government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity for all Nigerians,” Tunji-Ojo added, expressing optimism about the positive impact of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the nation’s progress in 2025.
The Minister urged citizens to embrace the season’s values, contributing to a peaceful and prosperous society.
