Five men were arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Monday over allegations of stealing a truckload of Milo products valued at N25 million.
The defendants, identified as Temidire Ramon, 35; Aminu Yusuf, 26; Olusola Opadare, 35; Oludayo Adeleye, 38; and Amodu Jimoh, 51, face charges of conspiracy and theft.
The prosecutor, Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, informed the court that the alleged crime occurred on October 13, 2020, in the Agbara area of Ogun State.
According to him, the defendants conspired to steal Milo products belonging to Nestlé Nigeria Plc.
“These acts violate Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Ogun State Criminal Code Laws, 2006,” Adaraloye stated.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa granted them bail at N500,000 each, requiring two sureties in like sum.
He emphasized that the sureties must be gainfully employed, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until December 12 for further hearing.
