Tiger Woods is making his return to golf following back surgery three months ago, as confirmed by the PGA Tour on Tuesday.
Woods, alongside his son Charlie, is set to compete in the PNC Championship in Orlando next week.
This marks the fifth appearance of Team Woods at the two-day, 36-hole tournament, which features 20 major champions playing with their family members.
“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” Woods said in a statement. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”
The duo finished in a tie for fifth place at 2023 event, which saw Bernhard Langer and his son, Jason, claim the title.
Woods, who last played in The Open Championship in July, has been dealing with persistent injury issues, recently admitting that “the body just won’t recover like it used to.”
Speaking at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas last week, a tournament he hosts, the 15-time major winner shared that he’s “got a long way to go” before returning to professional golf, but reassured fans that the “fire still burns to compete.”
The PNC Championship will be held from December 21-22 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes in Florida.
