The governor lauded participants from across Nigeria, describing the event as a stepping stone for deeper technological engagement.
“This week-long event underscores the priority we place on this journey. Technology is key to the future of Anambra, and we are deliberate in our efforts to create a digital tribe,” he said.
Ehia Ehabo, co-founder of AI in Nigeria, delivered the keynote address titled ‘Driving Investment in Africa through Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.’
He underscored Africa’s vast opportunities, emphasizing that innovation can address the continent’s challenges effectively.
Chinwe Okoli, the governor’s Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, hailed the success of the five-day event. She described the initiative as a milestone in bridging the technology and innovation gap.
“This event marks a historic moment for Anambra State,” Okoli said.
“The theme, ‘Creating the Africa Now,’ reflects Governor Soludo’s vision of a digitally empowered Anambra. His administration’s mantra is ‘everything technology, technology everywhere.’”
Okoli explained that the program featured discussions on demystifying innovation, a career conference for students and young professionals, and strategies for leveraging digital transformation in business and governance.
A major highlight of the event was the “Battle for Solution” competition, where young inventors were awarded a total of ₦100 million in cash prizes.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu; Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe; Chief of Staff, Ernest Ezeajughi; and tech experts from organizations like Meta, UNDP, and AI were among the dignitaries present.
Governor Soludo reaffirmed the state’s commitment to positioning Anambra as a leading commercial, logistics, and entertainment hub in Nigeria. “Our drive to deepen technology and innovation is deliberate. This is the future we envision for Anambra,” he concluded.
